BT Training Hub
Equipping the Church for Faithful Bible Translation
The BT Training Hub walks alongside those entrusted with teaching others for church network-led Bible translation. Whether you are just beginning or refining your practice, the hub offers practical training resources, shared learning, and a community shaped by experience and faithfulness.
Practical Support for Faithful Training
Our platform provides field-tested resources that include exportable training guides, training workshop methods and tools, and learning aids that can be adapted across contexts and teams.
How We Walk Together
Our work begins with a thorough understanding of local context. Together with church leaders, movement practitioners, and educators, we assess training needs, existing capacity, and long-term goals, ensuring that direction and decision-making remain locally owned.
We collaborate to develop sustainable training plans, support quality Bible translation at every phase, and strengthen local leadership and systems. Our role is to serve the work already underway, providing guidance, tools, and structure that enable faithful translation to be led, maintained, and carried forward by local communities.

Our resources are shaped by lived experience, shared learning, and ongoing reflection, offered not as finished products, but as tools meant to be used, adapted, and strengthened in community.
Our Role in the Work
Clarifying how we support translation efforts, local leadership, and long-term sustainability without directing or managing projects.
- SMC does not initiate, manage, or oversee translation projects. Instead, we come alongside existing efforts at any stage. We serve by supporting local leadership, offering coaching for sustainability, and providing training and tools that strengthen quality throughout the translation process.
- We joyfully serve the Global Church across denominations, movements, and contexts, united in Christ and committed to faithfulness to Scripture.
- Prior translation experience is not required. We begin with a virtual needs analysis and work together with leaders and teams to discern the most appropriate next steps based on their context and goals.
- We support translation quality and sustainability by providing access to tools and training for every stage of the translation process, including drafting, checking, translation aids, and notes. Our training guides also address key topics such as Qualities of a Good Translation and Form & Meaning.
- Toward strengthening capacity, we offer coaching for church leaders to help their churches take full ownership of the work, supporting not only the translation itself, but also the people serving on the translation team.
